Why Should I Lose Weight?

According to the BMI chart, if you are overweight, you may be more at risk of developing disease. That should be reason enough to lose weight. Weight related conditions include:

  • Premature death
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • High blood pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • Stroke
  • Gallbladder Disease
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Sleep apnea and breathing problems
  • Some cancers
  • Diabetes

Obesity can also cause irregular periods, complication with pregnancy, hirsutism (excessive body and facial hair), incontinence, depression, surgery complications and more.

If your health doesn't concern you, maybe your pocketbook does. By staying overweight, you may increase the amount of time spent visiting various healthcare professionals. Most of them don't work for free. Medications to treat these diseases can run into hundreds of dollars a month. Not to mention, you may have to take more time off work to care for your ailments. This means less income for you. And, you may notice that your health insurance premiums keep going up. It's because the amount being spent on healthcare keeps going up. A majority of which is related to treating problems that could be prevented by exercise and staying at a healthy weight. What a vicious cycle it is.

The annual cost associated with obesity and being overweight is staggering. The national cost of healthcare related to this is well over $100 Billion dollars. Diabetes and heart disease are among the fastest growing diseases that could easily be prevented in most people by staying at a healthy weight and exercising. Visit the NIDDK to get a breakdown of the costs associated with each disease that is related to being overweight.

By losing weight and starting a healthier way of life you can really save a lot of money. Eating healthier usually also means eating less. You may be able to save on the amount you spend on groceries and eating out each week too. Think of all the other things you could do with that money you'll be saving. It may require an initial investment to get the weight off but the rewards are well worth it.

Muscle Gain and Weight Loss

Weight loss accompanied by a muscle building plan is a great way to start loosing weight whilst enjoying the benefits of gaining muscle. Weight loss can be increased by building lean muscle mass, which allows the body to burn additional calories and fats during a restful state. For example a 30min exercise session can burn additional calories up to 20mins or more after the fact.

What are the benefits?

There are many benefits to achieving weight loss and muscle mass, such benefits as being able to portray a leaner, more healthier appearance, decreasing the chances of additional weight gain and being able to enjoy the ability of achieving increased activity. Obtaining muscles mass also allows you to wear a wide variety of clothing without worrying about the excess bulges protruding from the material of a garment.

How Can You Achieve Muscle Mass?

During any weight loss plan, exercise is an important part of the process. You can simply add a series of exercises at only 3x 20min sessions per week. You dont need fancy or expensive equipment to do this either. Step exercising is very effective for toning the buttocks and thighs, try doing 3 sets of 20 and in only a few days youll start to feel the difference. To tone your lower abs, sit in a seat, and raise your legs off the ground, and again a very effective exercise yet completely inexpensive. Incorporate press ups into your weight loss plan because they are great for strengthening the arms or biceps.

Over all there are so many benefits for achieving muscle strength. Start off slowly especially if exercise has not been apart of your weight loss plan in the most recent weeks and in only a few days, youll begin to see the difference in your body.

How To Lose Belly Fat

No one has ever been lured into a relationship by a flabby pot belly. Nor has anyone extended their life with a big tummy. That belly fat doesn't enhance the fit of your clothes. With all the tempting fast foods and a busy life, what are you to do? If you want to lose belly fat, you can. With a careful diet and consistent moderate exercise, you can lose belly fat, and keep it off!

The most common mistake people make when trying to lose belly fat is thinking that starving themselves will work. If you don't eat but exercise strenuously, you'll find yourself drained, hungry and still not losing weight. Another common strategy is to eat very little but fail to exercise. This approach won't lose that belly fat either.

The body doesn't operate that way. With inadequate food, your metabolism slows to compensate for the lack of food. So fat will be burned, but much less than with a combination of diet and exercise.

The secret to losing that fat is to reduce food portions, and get daily exercise. You can eat whatever you want, as long as it's nutritious and portions are smaller. Smaller portions allow you all the tastes you already enjoy, but because you're eating less, your body will be a fat burning machine without the awful side effects and dangers of starvation.

If you're going to consume 1500 calories per day, then a half-hour of belly exercise will be enough to slowly burn weight. If you want to ramp it up, then increase the amount of exercise as you see fit (pun intended). But half an hour of belly exercises are usually hard enough for a person to do.

Why is this? Why does it seem harder to lose belly fat than anywhere else on your body? It's not that you aren't burning fat, it's just that the stomach naturally has more padding. Also, when people try to lose belly fat, they usually aren't making the most of their exercise program. They stop between sit-ups, which slows down the fat burning process. Instead, when you exercise, go all the way through the routine, stopping only when absolutely necessary. Another effective way to lose belly fat is to do twists. Standing with legs apart, twist the upper half of your body from side to side, with arms stretched out to the sides. Toe-touches are also a good exercise. These all promote a smaller waist and flatter tummy.

When you start your diet and exercise program, remember not to slack off. Missing just one day will lead to missing "just" two days, and soon you're eating burger after burger while breaking that couch in a little more. After you lose fat, don't stop your exercise program. Now you're fit, so keep yourself that way!

Walking Gear - Shoes and Clothing

Walking Shoes

Shoes are the most important piece of equipment for a walker. Walking shoes can make the difference between having a fun, relaxing walk or an uncomfortable, painful walk. Find walking shoes with the following characteristics:

  • Shoes that provide support and comfort to all parts of your foot.
  • Shoes that have enough toe room so you can wiggle your toes.
  • Shoes that offer firm support at the heel.
  • Shoes that have a flexible cushioned sole to assist with your walking gait and shock absorption.
  • Shoes made of breathable material, or fabric that allows perspiration to dissipate.
  • Shoes should be lightweight.

There are many shoes at various prices ranges designed for walking. A running shoe or a tennis shoe is fine for a walking program as long as the shoe is comfortable and has the characteristics aforementioned.

Walking Equipment

It is best to wear loose fitting clothes, such as shorts made of natural material with a tee shirt, or a warm-up suit. Avoid rubberized clothing. Following are clothing guidelines to follow for your walking program:

  • Dress warmly in cold weather - Wear layers to trap the heat, yet allow you to remove layers if it gets warmer. As a guideline, wear one less layer than you would if you were outside in the cold weather and not walking. Remember to wear a hat since approximately 30 percent of your body heat is lost through your head.
  • Dress less in warm weather - In warm weather, less is more. Wear light clothing. Wear a hat to block the sun.
  • Dress for rain or snow - A water and windproof jacket makes a great addition to your walking wardrobe for rain or snow.

Walking Gear

Although there is no need to spend a lot of money on walking gear, there are items that will make your program easier, safer and more fun, such as a pedometer and reflective products and lights.

  • Pedometer - A pedometer is a great way to enhance your program. It allows you to track the number of steps taken, how far you've walked, and how long you've been walking for. A pedometer also allows you to track your progress against the goals you have set for yourself.
  • Reflective products and lights - Reflective products are a must-have if you walk in the morning, early evening or at night. Consider purchasing a reflective vest and reflective bands. A flashlight or strobe light will also help you be seen at night.

Make your walking program a success with comfortable walking shoes and clothing, a pedometer for tracking your progress, and reflective products for safety.

Can Herbal Weight Loss Pills Really Help You Lose Weight

Allopathic medicines and pills for weight loss are often associated with toxins and side effects. Therefore most of the people are, generally, reluctant to take them. Herbal weight loss pills, as the name suggests, are made from organic plants and herbs which have medicinal properties. They are considered safe, efficacious and without side effects. In any case, even if they do not do any good, it generally does not do any harm either.

What are some of the benefits of herbal weight loss pills? Herbal plants grow naturally in the lap of raw, primal nature in wild and mountainous areas. Of course they can be transplanted and recycled in the nurseries, but their basic properties remain unaltered.

Obesity or being overweight is becoming a worldwide epidemic. It is more prevalent in affluent countries and spreading fast in countries which are growing economically. Although weight loss herbs should be taken as closely to their original natural form as possible, their tastes and odors are quite often odious and unbearable. They are, therefore, converted into pills for easy ingestion.

Herbal pills are more affordable than allopathic pills as their manufacturing and processing is not as complicated as their allopathic counterparts. They also tend to be fairly fast acting.

Herbal weight loss pills can fight the overweight problems created by eating foods with excess fats and carbohydrates. They can even help in genetically inherited hormonal disorders leading to obesity. They work faster and can be made tasty as well. They give you pleasant feeling, and reduce craving for food in a natural way which leads to weight loss in shorter span of time.

Herbal weight loss pills are rich in vital vitamins, proteins and other nutrients. They can be good dietary supplements and even perfect dietary substitutes. They are also good substitutes for artificial products such as laxatives, diet drinks and so on. They stimulate natural thermo-genesis which improves the metabolic action in your system that burns extra calories in the body and converts food into energy. When thermo-genesis is combined with the ingestion of appetite suppressants, you achieve the weight loss faster.

However, you need to use a little caution when taking herbal weight loss pills. It must be noted that they should be taken only after your BMI or Body Mass Index crosses the prescribed level with respect to your body. Taking them as a preventive step without considering the critical BMI level may cause certain reactions that may prove harmful to your body rather then benefiting it.

There are several companies that manufacture herbal weigh loss pills under different brand names and different shapes. The drug that you are about to take should have undergone sufficient clinical tests and should have shown positive results.

Herbal weight loss pills are of two types, prescriptive and non-prescriptive. The former are obviously prescribed by the doctor and should only be taken under his instructions. Most of the various pills are usually non-prescriptive and are easily available over the counter from any pharmacy outlet working under minimal FDA guidelines. Some of these non-prescriptive herbal brands are produced by companies such as Herbalife and Metalife.

It is, however, advisable to take any herbal weight loss pill-both prescriptive and non-prescriptive under the advice of a qualified doctor.

Quick Weight Loss!

Perhaps you've heard the joke about the SHOCKING news headlines from the year 2050: "New study reveals that exercise and proper nutrition is the key to successful weight loss!"

It seems that we're always looking for a quick and easy way to lose fat, but those darn studies and that reputable research just keeps getting in the way of our dream!

There's always someone out there telling us we can lose fat without watching our diet and without any exercise. As much as we'd like to believe that's true, deep down inside we know better. The ads promising that we can 'get slim quick' remind us of the 'get rich quick' infomercials we see on late-night television. Still, there's no shortage of 'get slim quick' products out there.....

A YaHoo search of the term "Easy Weight Loss" yielded about 10,600,000 hits.

A Google search of the phrase "Quick Weight Loss" showed about 14,300,000 recommended sites to visit!

Looking up "Easy Fat Loss" on YaHoo revealed about 4,290,000 answers.

Finally, running a Google search for "I want to lose weight but I don't want to exercise because I don't have the time, money or will power" will bring up about 633,000 sites.....we're not kidding!

Compare that to the Google results for "Weight Loss Truth": only about 2,760,000.

+ PERMANENT FAT LOSS REQUIRES EFFORT

Let's face it, there really is no good way to lose fat without any effort! Successful and permanent weight (fat) loss takes some time, it takes some effort, and it certainly requires some exercise! Consider what Dr. Gabe Mirkin had to say on the subject recently: "There are many products on the market today that promise to help you lose weight. None will help you unless they get you to exercise more and eat fewer calories." (Source: The Sportsmedicine Institute, Inc.)

+ DON'T BE TEMPTED BY SHORTCUTS

So is it possible to lose weight quickly? Sure, but weight loss achieved quickly and/or by 'cheating' will never be permanent and is usually not healthy.

Remember the phen-fen pills that were popular just a few years ago? While they certainly helped you lose weight, they were withdrawn from the market in September of 1997 after being linked to the occurrence of serious cardiac valvular disease, and primary pulmonary hypertension.

Ephedra, another weight loss pill, was pulled from shelves on April 12, 2004. After a careful review of the available evidence about the risks and benefits of ephedra in supplements, the FDA found that these supplements present an unreasonable risk of illness or injury to consumers. The data showed little evidence of ephedra's effectiveness, except for short-term weight loss, while confirming that the substance raises blood pressure and stresses the heart (Source: www.nccam.nih.gov).

Please note that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) found that ephedra was effective for ONLY short-term weight loss. Does that sound like a permanent solution?

There are lots of other 'shortcuts' out there, from laxatives to harsh stimulants. There are also some honestly good products that can help us lose fat IF they are used in conjunction with regular exercise and healthy nutrition. Green tea is a good example. Clinical studies conducted by Dr. Abdul Dulloo, of the University of Geneva in Switzerland brought the conclusion that green tea weight raises metabolic rates and speeds up fat oxidation.

+ THE TAKE-HOME MESSAGE

So what's the take-home message? The bottom line is that there is no 'get slim quick' miracle out there. The only way to achieve permanent fat loss by following the same advice we've been hearing for years: exercise regularly and watch what we eat!

Let's watch out for products that claim we can achieve the body we've always wanted without diet or exercise. We know that's not true, so let's not be tempted by the empty promise.

Plot Your Weight Loss Course

I'm sure you already know that weight loss and improved fitness don't happen overnight. But did you know that there are steps that you can take to improve your chances of weight loss success before you even start your healthier eating and exercise plan?

There are five distinct stages of behavioral change. Knowing what stage you are at now will help you to create a road map which will help you to achieve your future weight loss and improved fitness goals.

Here are the five major phases:

Stage 1 - Pre-contemplation:

This is the point where you don't feel that any change in your lifestyle is necessary. You may be thinking that exercising just takes too much time or that fast food is just too convenient to even consider giving up. Starting a fitness or healthier eating program during this stage would probably result in failure. The best thing you can do during this phase is to reassess your life goals and educate yourself further about health, diseases and risks.

Stage 2 - Contemplation:

During this stage you may start thinking that a change is necessary.

So, you think that maybe cutting back to eating fast food only three times a week is not so bad and you might be able to at least take a walk once in awhile. This is a good time to learn more about the benefits of healthy eating and regular exercise.

Stage 3 - Preparation:

At this point you are getting more serious about taking action. You've penciled in a walk with your friend for next week and are planning to go grocery shopping to cook a home meal. You may want to research exercise equipment, gyms, personal trainers, and healthier eating programs to learn more about what you can do to get in better shape.

Stage 4 - Action:

Here's where you actually take the first step. The first step may be as simple as taking a daily walk, reducing your fast food visits to twice a month or just cutting back on daily soft drinks and unhealthy snacks. Or, you may go as far as hiring a personal trainer or joining a gym. During this stage it is very important to learn coping mechanisms that will help you avoid relapsing into your old ways. One way to avoid exercise dropout is to form new healthy habits that lead to permanent lifestyle changes.

Stage 5 - Maintenance:

This is, of course, the stage that everyone should strive to be in. Being here means that you are exercising regularly and eating healthily most of the time. It is important throughout this stage (which should last the rest of your life) that you include a variety of exercise types or workouts that change relatively frequently. You should also seek and encourage the support of friends and family and include them wherever possible in the healthier aspects of your new life.

What stage are you in right now?

So, now can you identify what stage you are at? You may find that you are in the pre-contemplation stage for nutritional habits but that you are in the preparation stage for exercises. That's okay. It's not critical for you to force both areas into the same stage. You can work on changing your nutritional and exercise habits separately.

The key to success is first identifying your stage and then taking steps to advance to the next level (unless, of course, you are already at the Maintenance stage). Use the suggestions mentioned above in each stage to help you move to the next phase.

It's also important to tune-in to your fears, past struggles and expectations. Making nutritional and exercise changes is not easy and should be approached slowly. Remember to make small changes. Don't try to go from a completely sedentary lifestyle to an hour of daily exercise overnight. Build up slowly starting with even just 10 minutes of exercise every other day.

And lastly, be sure to inform your family and friends of your plans and enlist their support. Support is extremely important for anyone with weight loss and fitness related goals.

Exercising With Your Bodylastics Resistance Bands

The Bodylastic fitness tool has become a very popular gym tool once it has been so greatly advertised and presented to the general public. After seeing one commercial of the product, the interested public is tempted to buy Bodylastics, instead of the other devices of the same kind, as the advantages of this very tool are many more than the ones of other gym apparatus of the same caliber and providing the same physical effects. Hence, the Bodylastic home gym is one step ahead in comparison with other similar work out products.

Besides the basic and the most obvious advantages that it provides, such as the low price, the ease of usage and the easy depositing of it, Bodylastic is mostly preferred to other similar products by the effective exercises that one can make with it.

There is a set of simple but very efficient fitness exercises that assure a thorough remodeling of one's body after a few sessions of using Bodylastic. These exercises are based on the principal fitness moves and do not require a special physical condition in order to be practiced. Among these exercises there are some really simple ones. The ones that almost anyone can make and the exercises that require a bit more effort than the others. The latter are not difficult. They are just a bit more solicitant for the muscles.

The secret in differentiating the exercises is the position in which the body members must stay. For a more intense muscle activity the arms or the legs must be in a more open position, creating a wider angle between them and thus permitting a more thorough modeling of the respective muscles and for a more relaxing activity the members must be kept and moved in a more close position from one another.

The major advantage that it provides is the fact that one can work the arms and legs at the same time and the results are fantastic. The effects are very prompt. After only a few sessions of working out with Bodylastic there is an obvious change in the structure and disposition of the muscles. This major advantage is what makes the difference between classical fitness tools and Bodylastic, the revolutionary gym device that takes care of multiple parts in the same time.

People use these exercises very often after having purchased a Bodylastics home gym, and they are quickly astonished by the immediate effects of the unique and accessible fitness tool. Those are only some of the advantages that make Bodylastic a very popular device to use by everyone.

How to Lose A Lot of Weight Really Fast

Big event coming up? Need to lose a lot of weight really fast? Here's the secret...

Its a common misconception that you need to starve yourself and exercise until you drop to lose a lot of weight really fast. This is NOT true. Read on to learn the truth.

Eat More

If you want to lose a lot of weight really fast, you need to get your metabolism up. If your metabolism is up, you will burn more calories, which engaging in the same amount of activity. It's really that simple. A lot of people starve their muscles, and assume that they will feed off their fat. False. Another important element to raising your metabolism is to keep your system and intestinal tract clear of toxins. There are some great one day tricks to aide in doing this such as a good body wrap or fiber supplement.

Drink More

Its a necessity to STAY hydrated. Your body can't function properly without a good amount of high quality H2O. So, do your body a favor and be sure to ingest at least 8 full glasses of water each and every day. It may sound difficult, but I know that plenty of people out there are drinking more than 8 glasses of soda a day without any problem.

To recap, ensure that you are eating more frequently than you normally would, including protein with every meal, and a large breakfast to start your day. Then, just stay hydrated and lose a lot of weight really fast!

Unknown Weight Loss Facts For Beginners

More and more people are concerned about their body weight. It seems that every year the amount of overweight people only increases and this is the reason why weight loss topic became so popular between everyone. Summer is not so far away and everyone is looking for a effective weight loss program.

In magazines we often see different diets, recipes and other stuff which should magically help us to loose weight, but do these methods really work? Personally I don't know anyone, who lost their weight using the principles which are described in our favorite magazines.

Few years ago I bought myself a bodybuilding guide, which completely changed my point of view into weight loss and muscle building. I have noticed that so many people are focused on popular stuff, which is shown on TV, advertised in magazines and I have noticed that not everyone realize that this is only a commercial trick.

I personally believe that everything can be achieved only by hardcore research and this is why my thoughts are based only on one bodybuilding guide, which was written by a person who was in bodybuilding for more than ten years.

I would like to introduce two important factors which are parts of a successful weight loss.

People have focused on the wrong things in their diet and this is why according to the statistics 87% of people who decide to loose weight, eventually fail and they gain even more weight after. A lot of people think that to loose weight they will need to make big, radical changes in their diets and lifestyle, but after two weeks time of low fat, low carb diet body can't cope with the sudden changes in ones lifestyle and eventually there is so called breakthrough. A person who was on diet goes to local supermarket, buys himself ten bars of chocolate and eats everything in one day and then he thinks that theres nothing better than old lifestyle. That is why you shouldn't make radical changes in your diet. Everything has to be made steadily.

There is another not traditional method. According to the bodybuilding guide, weight loss depends on energy balance. This method isn't so popular in magazine articles, but I think it should be the foundation of every weight loss program.

Basically when I say that weight loss is dependent on energy balance I mean that you should plan your meals and plan your daily activities. The days don't have to be perfectly planned, but the thing is that you will know how many energy you use. Inou short terms it means that you should get less energy from food than you use. This is a fact of successful bodybuilding. There are hundreds of pills, vitamins on the market, but if you don't combine it with this principle you unlikely will achieve the results you want.

This only the first article of my weight loss article series and soon I will write a new article which will give more unknown information about effective weight loss and successful bodybuilding.

For more unknown, cutting edge information on how you can successfully improve your body shape and how to become a healthier person be sure to check out http://www.getridoffatnow.com There is no better way to start!

Fat Buring Foods - Eat These Foods To Help You Lose Weight Fast!

Are there foods to eat that actually burn fat if you eat them? The answer is YES.

These foods can be incorporated any diet. should make them an essential part of your dietary regime.

What then are far burning foods? Basically, fat burning foods are foods that burn more calories than the caloric content of the foods itself.

Every farmer knows (that raises pigs) that there are certain foods which actually burn more fat than the caloric content of the food itself, so they avoid feeding these foods to their animals (which are sold by weight!).

These fat burning foods or so called negative calorie foods are natural plant foods, and also certain dairy items.

The fat burners then fall into three basic groups:
1. The Citrus group
2. The Cellulose-rich Vegetables and Fruits group
3. The Dairy group

The Citrus Group includes:
Limes
Lemons
Grapefruit
Tangerines
Oranges
Kiwi (not a citrus but extra-rich in Vitamin C, thus a fat burner)

The Cellulose-rich Vegetables and Fruits group includes:
watermelon
cabbage
asparagus
carrot
beet root
broccoli
apple
blueberries

The Dairy group includes:
Non-fat milk
Low-fat yogurt
White (fresh) cheese

A word must be mentioned about the fat-burning capacity of dairy foods.

It is now proven clinically that calcium-rich foods (especially dairy foods) assist weight loss by increasing fat breakdown in fat cells themselves.

This means that the non-fatty dairy foods are fat burners and should be included in any diet. Also the studies showed that it is not only the calcium (for example, taken as supplements), as the dairy products far out-performed simple supplements in weight loss controlled experiments.

It must also be mentioned that eating the above fat burners will help lose weight but you need to add some mild daily exercise. This can be in the form of walking or running, but it must be daily and for periods of no less than 20 to 30 minutes. The pulse-rate must climb to near 100 beats per minute, and a light sweat should appear to indicate you are helping your metabolism turn back on. The foods also will have a most positive effect on this increased metabolism.

Another interesting fact is that by eating these foods and daily exercising your body will continue to burn fat even after the exercise is completed. It also has a cumulative effect.

It must also be remembered that a strict rule of diet (and physics) is that you do not lose weight unless YOU BURN (USE) MORE CALORIES THAN YOU CONSUME. So, the logic and practical application of eating the fat-burning foods, and waking up the body by exercise, hold true.

You also do not have to count calories, as you be able to understand if you are negative calories (consumed) or positive calories (consumed) by simple weighing yourself daily.

Weight Loss Made Easy

Create and Focus on your goal

I guess everyone wants to look slim and to do these with a positive result you have to set your goals, fat loss just don't come but it does if the tactics are applied the right way. In order to lose fat you need to set your own goal by saying you will lose two or more pounds a week and invest time in it to do what is required to lose that two pounds in a week and watch as you lose fat as the work plan expires.

Prepare and plan meals in time

When you are in a fat loss workout plan its not all food you should eat thats why its good to join a reputable lose workout program. Try to stick to that particular type of food you are only required to eat to get a successful plan and make sure you eat it at the required time, do not skip it for another food. During the time when you know you are not required to do it will jeopardize your chances of attaining a great stage to lose fat.

Climb steps instead of elevator

If you stay or live in a house or office where elevator can be alternated to stairs, try to form the habit of taking stairs rather the elevator. Though it might be stressful but it has its advantage of helping you lose fat without spending a penny which is a work you made from self service.

Change food

The type of food you eat will help you lose fat, if you are type that love to eat fatty foods, you are likely to gain more fat rather than burn fat. Eat your food gradually, do not rush your food, do it slowly. Eat foods one at a time do not bombard yourself with food. Take water as you eat and do not start to eat without water by your side or on the table this is because drinking water can help your food digest quicker thereby making you burn lots of calories which lose fat quick.

Drink hot water

If you drink hot water instead of cold water it can help to speed up your metabolism thereby helping you burn lots of calories which is effective to be able to lose fat. When you want to drink water, try to boil it to a temperature that is human being consumable and then drink it, you can do this 4 times daily , you can drink hot water after every 5 hours. Include this method while you are carrying out your fat loss workout plans. This might be uncomfortable but you have to do it if you want to lose fat in a short period of time.

Sleep less

Though its not easy to stay awake all night for someone that wants to lose fat, you can cut the hour of time you sleep at night. If you are the type that sleeps for 7 hours at night, you can cut it to 2 hours to make you lose fat. You may wonder how this will be successful because for real you will be feeling sleepy through out the day, but i must bet you that less sleep burns fat faster than any other method. You can find stuffs to do to stay awake during the night like watching tv, doing some house works or anything you can think of to make you stay awake, this is a successful fat loss program and can be done by anybody whom is serious about waiting to lose fat. I must tell you this will make a quick impact in you during the day like nodding when you go to the office, you might do the 2 hours sleep for 2 weeks and quit.

Finally, you need fat loss 4 idiots, its an online weight loss center. Are Wedding Diets Just For The Bride?

While the first words which spring to mind whenever the word diet is mentioned are weight loss and reduced food intake, but is that really all that it has to offer or is there a little bit more?

There is no doubt that a diet can and will help you to trim your figure ahead of the big day, but it can also help you in the run up to what can be a very stressful time. By eating the right foods at the right time it can give you the strength of mind and the strength of body to enjoy your day to the full and ensure that everything goes to plan. Many people are concerned that diets mean cutting out ALL of the food which they like, but this is not true. Simply by adding, or exchanging, parts of your diet for more health food and adding more exercise into your daily routine you can see a big difference very quickly.

While the popularity of wedding diets continues to grow, many people seem to forget that the grooms also want to look good on their big day. Whether they have suit in mind which they want to wear, or simply want to get themselves into better shape, wedding diets can mean as much to a groom as they can to a bride. In fact there are many brides and grooms who will actually start a dieting and exercise plan together prior to their big day, each motivating and helping the other to each their goal.

Dieting does not always mean shedding masses of weight, it can simply mean improving your diet, shedding a few unwanted pounds and basically getting yourself back into shape. So whether you are the bride or the groom, has there ever been a better reason to start that diet you have been putting off for some time?

Are You Sabotaging Your Weight Loss System?

Losing weight and keeping it off is a great goal, but it's usually a challenge. It's more than just eat less, move more. There are so many variables that can affect a good diet. Sometimes people work against themselves without even knowing it. Any good weight loss system will help you drop the pounds, but if you make any of these common mistakes you might just be sabotaging yourself unknowingly.

Innocent Extra Mouthfuls - Did you know that most people have no idea how many calories they consume on a daily basis? In fact, even registered dietitians often underestimate their calorie intake by as much as 20%! The extra calories often come from "hidden" sources, like those 4 pretzels your grabbed on the way out the door (40 calories), or the 2 peanut M&M's you snatched (20 calories). These little extras that you don't think "really count" add up and can equal 100-200 extra calories a day! That's a pound a month. Keep a food journal and record everything you eat and you'll find that you might be eating way more than you think.

Not Drinking Enough Water - Many people often mistake thirst for hunger. They reach for a snack instead of giving their body what it really needs: a cool glass of water. If you make sure to drink the recommended 6-8 glasses of water a day you can stop this fake "hunger." Avoid sugary sodas and even diet colas, as these contain caffeine that actually works against your attempts at rehydration.

Bedtime "Meals" - Some people have bedtime snacks. Others tend to have more of a bedtime meal. Keep your bedtime snack small; roughly 100 calories. This will not only assist in your attempt to eat less but you'll also sleep much better. It doesn't really matter if you eat before bed, in fact it might be a good idea to keep your metabolism going. However, it does matter how much you eat. Keep the snacks small.

No Plan - Many people just tell themselves "I'm going to lose weight." Which is great, but that's all they do. It's extremely hard for most people to lose the fat by simply attempting to eat less. Instead, it's recommended that you find a good diet plan and stick to it. A good program will help you change your overall eating habits and ensure you get proper nutrition. Also, you will learn how to eat healthier for life.

Keep these tips in mind as you follow a good weight loss system, and your efforts will be all the more successful.

5 Secrets to Lasting Weight Loss

Are you ready to stop yo-yo dieting? We have all read countless studies and know from experience that often, keeping the weight off is as much of a challenge as losing it. Here are 5 secrets to shedding those extra pounds and keeping them off.

1. Individualize - Find what works for you, this may take some trial and error but in the long run it pays off. Lets face it all diets work when you follow them.... but can you live your life with the eating plan? Find a plan that you can not only live with but enjoy. You can do this by assessing what has and hasn't worked in the past, what your food preferences are, and looking for healthy ways to incorporate them into an eating plan.

2. Choose - We all have a choice about what we eat. Choose smart calories - healthy carbohydrates like whole grains, fruit,& vegetables, - low fat proteins like chicken breast, fish, & low fat yogurt, - healthy fats like omega 3 (salmon, nuts, flax seed). You can enjoy your food and feel full.

3. Carbohydrates - The thing is carbohydrates are good for you, if you choose the right ones. Sugar and highly refined flour wreak havoc on your blood sugar causing you to be hungry again very quickly. Studies have shown choosing the good carbohydrates (fruit, veggies, whole grains) over the refined ones (soda, cookies, white bread) can help you to lose up to 10 pounds in a year even if you don't cut calories.

4. Move It - Exercise is important to weight loss and maintaining weight. Every bit counts, if you can't find 30 - 45 minutes in one chunk break it down into 15 minute segments. Be sure to include strength training in your exercise regime to get the double benefit of toned muscle and increased resting metabolism. Start where you are and appreciate all that you body does each and every day. Honor your body by taking care of it.

5. Haunting Habits - Be on the alert for habit creep, the insidious slide back to the habits that helped you gain the weight. Be alert and keep the good habits you've developed from being consumed by the old ones. Schedule regular maintenance check ups with yourself... whats working , whats not, do the clothes still fit the same, are your goals still reflective of what you really want?

Fast Weight Loss Tips

Here in this article are a few fast weight loss tips which should help you get on the right path to losing weight successfully.

First up don't starve yourself. It may seem logical that if you eat as little as possible you will achieve fast weight loss but this isn't really the case, and nor is it safe.

It may result in initial quick weight loss but this will soon stop. The reason for this is that your body will sense it is being starved and so will slow your metabolism down to reserve more energy.

It will also inform your metabolism to burn muscle rather than fat which will increase your appetite to almost unbearable levels and thus causing an end to your diet. Once you go back to a regular eating routine you will find you gain weight quicker as your metabolism will still be working at a lower rate.

One piece of advice that is often ignored is to drink plenty of water. Water makes us feel more energetic and less sleepy but it also makes us feel fuller which is also a great benefit as it goes towards preventing you from snacking between meals.

Speeding up your metabolism is a great way of increasing the rate at which you lose weight. There is no need for pills though as there are several natural steps you can take to increase this.

They include eating more meals a day, keeping active, and making sure you eat breakfast ( this wakes your metabolism up for the day). You can find a few more tips on increasing your metabolism by reading Metabolism Boosters- Natural Ways To Boost Metabolism.

Many diets advise you to cut out certain food types such as protein or carbohydrates but this is something I would try to avoid. Every food group contains something which our body needs so by leaving out a certain food group our body will miss out on the benefits they provide.

A diet based around shifting calories not only has fast results but also doesn't require you to miss out on any food groups.

Thank you for reading these fast weight loss tips, now all you have to do is put them into practice.

What You Need To Do To Set Up A Fitness Program

By starting a fitness program this is one of the best things you can do for your health. As long as you have approval from your doctor to exercise. Not only can physical exercise reduce the risk of chronic disease (heart etc.,) it can also improve your balance and co-ordination as well. Plus the added benefits also included are that it will help you to lose weight, you may find that you are sleeping better and your self-esteem improves. But what is even better is that you can commence a fitness program just by following the information below.

1. Assessing your Fitness Level

Although you may have some idea of just how fit you are it is important that you both assess and record some baseline fitness scores. These can then be used as a benchmark against which you can measure your progress over the coming months. In order to assess your aerobic and muscular fitness along with flexibility and body composition you should consider recording the following.

a. Your pulse rate before you go for a 1 mile walk and your pulse rate at the end of the walk.
b. Time how long it takes you to walk that 1 mile.
c. Count how many push ups that you are able to do at any one time.
d. Just how far forward can you reach whilst sat on the floor with your legs out in front of you.
e. Measure the circumference of your waist (at navel level).
f. What is your body mass index

2. Design your Fitness Program

It is very easy for many people to say that they will exercise every day. But in order to do this they will need a plan. However, it is important to remember that where one plan may good for one person it is not good for another (we are all different). Therefore when designing and fitness program for yourself you should remember the following points.

a. What are your goals? Do you want to use your fitness program to lose weight or do you have some other reason for starting one. Say for example you are taking part in a 5km race. By setting yourself clear goals you will be able to chart your progress more easily. b. Consider what exercises you like or dislike. Choose those activities which you will enjoy because if you have fun doing the exercises then you are more likely to keep doing them. c. Plan your progression logically. When first starting to exercise then begin cautiously and progress slowly. Also should you suffer from any injury or medical condition consult your doctor first. The reason for this is that they may be able to design a fitness program that will gradually improve not only your range of motion, but your strength and endurance as well.

Hopefully some of the hints and tips provided above will help you to design a fitness program that will help you to achieve your goals in the future.

Top 10 Weight Loss Facts

These Top 10 weight Loss Facts are positively clear about what works and what does not:

1. Like a savings account If you take in more energy than your body needs, through the foods you eat and drink, your body stores the extra calories as fat, adds some interest and you put on weight. If you use up more energy than you take in, you burn off the extra amounts and you lose weight.

2. It is very clear then that reducing your food intake is surely the best way to lose weight.

3. Exercise is considered to be very good for you, however, it takes a lot of exercise to lose even a small amount of weight. As you tone your body, body-fat reduces and muscle volume increases. Now although this may be better for your health, it can seem bad for your weight. Muscle weighs more than fat so your weight may go up! The greatest problem with this is: your appetite often increases after exercise, so you eat more and wipe out the benefits of the exercise.

4. You should not think of yourself as being greedy; what you need to accept is that you may have to change your eating habits. All too often there is no time to eat sensibly and as a result eat too little at one meal and too much at another. Try not to miss the most important meal of the day - breakfast - and then you should eat at regular intervals throughout the day with less in the evening so your body can have time to process your food before you go to bed.

5. Diets with contradictory features appear regularly so don't assume that the latest one is the one that will work for you. What may work for one will not work for another; if you are serious about weight loss, just follow this simple outline.

6. Cut out as many fatty, high calorie foods as you are able and remove visible fat from fresh meat.

7. When cooking, it's better to grill (broil), steam or poach rather than frying; if you must fry, then use a thin spray of oil or stir-fry very quickly.

8. Some fats are essential in your diet, and some are difficult to avoid, such as spreads or salad dressings, so only use the smallest possible amount of the "light", "low-fat" or "fat-free" brands but check the labels to see whether they remain low-calorie; other things are often added to make them taste better!

9. Whenever you sit down to a meal, try to reduce the size of your normal portion by at least one-third; so instead of having three of anything except fresh vegetables or fruit, go down to two.

10. Because protein is digested more slowly than carbohydrate, it tends to make you feel fuller for longer, so when cutting your portions back you may find that you feel more satisfied if you cut out some carbohydrate rather than protein.

Building Up Strong and Shapely Legs

Most persons have more developed legs than the arms since the legs are frequently exercised in a persons daily waking routine. But the mere exercise of walking will not develop the large muscles at the front of the thighs and in the calves of the legs, or the climbing muscles. Walking or running, may bring those muscles into action, but does not place any considerable tension upon them.

The leg muscles of the runner are more elastic, and capable of more rapid action than are those of the athlete of the hills. But the former soon tires under the strain of a steady climb, whatever his physical condition may be, simply because he has not developed the muscles then called into action.

This capability cannot be credited to natural ability but to special training and exerted effort.

It may not catch everyones attention when I say that the exercise I designed will develop these climbing muscles. But when Ill say it can add to the proportionality of the legs, it will perhaps generate interest. The build-up of the muscles on the thigh and the calves relies deeply on the ball of the foot. And the exercise I designed can be practiced while lying in bed.

Attach to the foot of your bed a cord about 1-feet in length, attaching a pulley weight handle. Lying on your side, hold this handle then press firmly against the footboard of the bed with the ball of the foot, and alternately relax the pressure. This alternate pressure and relaxation will actively exercise the muscles in question. It will also imitate the action of climbing, the leg being exercised as such. And it will bring no strain or possible injury upon the heart a danger ever imminent in hill climbing.

The pressure exerted should be equal to that required in climbing stairs or a steep slope. This exercise, if persistently and regularly practiced, will surely improve the symmetry of the legs. And it will give one the ability to climb stairs or steep hills, which cannot be acquired by the same amount of walking or ordinary gym running exercise. It should be practiced both with the left and the right feet. Otherwise the development will be unequal.

If the cord and pulley weight handle is inconvenient, simply rest the ball of the foot against the footboard of the bed and alternately press and relax. Or here is still another and easier way lying on your back or partially on the side, place the ball of the left foot on the upper part or toes of the right. Tense the muscles of this right leg and foot so that it may afford support. Then alternately press and relax with the left foot. Repeat the exercises with the other leg.

The cord and pulley weight handle device is far more effective and can guarantee quicker development. But the last two exercises can be practiced under all circumstances and will appeal to the members of the greatest organization on earth: the lazy people, of which the writer is a member and a good example.

The foremost reason why these exercises were designed is to get the desired development with minimal effort exerted. Some people may say it is a lazy mans system but it is mainly designed for people of more advanced age, who are not anymore fit enough to undergo rigorous and strenuous exercises. Just the same, you are guaranteed that the exercises are remarkably effective. Finally, people of all ages can use these exercises to great benefit.

The Real Secret of How to Lose Belly Fat

Crunch after crunch, sit-up after sit-up; the more time you spend in the gym working on those abs, the flatter they'll get, right? Wrong. Crunches and sit-ups are not the answer when wondering how to lose belly fat. While it's true that these exercises will tone and tighten the muscles of your stomach, this does sometimes give you a slightly leaner look around the belly simply because you're more toned, crunches and sit-ups don't actually cause you to lose fat at the midsection.

Why Crunches Are Not the Answer

To really understand how to lose belly fat, you need to understand how the body actually burns fat in the first place, and it really has nothing to do with resistance training or weight lifting. The body holds fat when you eat more calories than you expend; these excess calories are converted to fat and stored in the body, whether it's around your stomach or arms or legs or anyplace else. In reality, fat is fat, and the only way to learn how to lose belly fat is to learn how your body burns that excess fat in the first placed.

To reduce these fatty deposits in your body, you need to adjust that balance of calories consumed versus calories burned. This might mean decreasing your calories every day, expending your calories burned by increasing your physical activity, or a combination of both. This is the only solution to the problem of how to lose belly fat. When you begin to expend more calories than you consume, your body burns those stores of fat to compensate. It calls upon those "reserves" of fat to provide the necessary energy, and the fat begins to melt from your body.

How to Lose Belly Fat Versus Other Body Fat

The one problem that many people face when wondering how to lose belly fat is that they are trying to target this specific area for trimming. Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing you can do to decide where your body is going to draw those fat reserves from. It might start burning the fat on your arms, legs, butt, face, or anyplace else before it takes fat from your belly. Crunches and sit-ups won't cause your body to take fat from that area any sooner or any quicker.

However, there is an upside to doing all those crunches and sit-ups when considering how to lose belly fat, and that is that this will make your stomach look more toned once that fat does start melting off. Also, doing resistance training and muscle building of any type will help your metabolism speed up, as people with more muscle mass have a higher metabolism, meaning that they are burning more calories even at rest, then those without. The body needs to work harder to constantly feed those muscles, so it's burning more calories overall. So don't discount the idea of doing crunches and sit-ups when learning how to lose belly fat, just don't expect them to perform miracles either!

Weight Loss at Home - Here's A Full-Body Workout Without Weights

These 5 bodyweight exercises can keep you strong at home, on the road, or anywhere else you want to work out. To see pictures, click the link below.

  • The bodyweight squat

  • The Pushup / Dive-bomber pushup

  • Back lunge

  • Frog Jumps

  • Shadow boxing

This holiday (weight gain) season, if you're heading out of town, can't make it to the gym, or just looking for a little change of pace, here's a great way to work your whole body.

If you want to burn some fat and work your heart, perform each exercise for one minute, with no breaks in between. After the shadow boxing, rest for 1-2 minutes and repeat the whole thing again. Run through the full sequence 2-5 times.

It goes without saying that you should clear these exercises with your doctor before you try them. You could get hurt, particularly if you have a bad back, heart condition, or some other health problem that you may or may not know about.

The Bodyweight Squat

The bodyweight squat is an excellent full-body exercise. It works the legs, back, core, and lungs. Start with your feet about hips' distance apart. Inhale and descend to your personal bottom point. If you can go fully to the bottom, great. If beat up knees or a bad back shortens that range, that's OK, too. Come to a full stop at the bottom - no bouncing - then push your heels into the ground to come back up.

The Push-up / Dive-Bomber Pushups

With your hands at shoulder width, start off by doing pushups for as long as you can, either on your feet or knees. Come to a full stop at the top and bottom of each rep. When you run out of gas, switch to the dive-bomber pushup. This basically involves alternating between a yoga "down dog" and "up dog".

The Back Lunge

Step back into a lunge and come back up. Then step back with the other foot. Make sure you keep your torso upright and don't smack your knee into the ground.

Frog Jumps

Go from a pushup position to the bottom of the squat, and then back to the pushup. Pace yourself, it's tough. If you have a bad back, skip this one.

Shadow boxing

Throw combinations and move from side to side. Keep your hands up.

So once again, here's the workout:

  • The bodyweight squat

  • The Pushup / Dive-bomber pushup

  • Back lunge

  • Frog Jumps

  • Shadow boxing

Perform each exercise for one minute, with no breaks in between. After the shadow boxing, rest for 1-2 minutes and repeat the whole thing again. Run through the full sequence 2-5 times.

After the shadow boxing, rest for 1-2 minutes and repeat the whole thing again. Run through the full sequence 2-5 times. Try it, you'll see what I mean.
