Lose Weight Fast

Most of us relieve that self indulging with food has little to no consequence...Until we see ourselves in a bathing suit. It's at this time when we would like a magic wand and wish away all the "extra" self we see reflecting in the mirror.

This is not always the case and we need to do more. A person who needs to lose weight fast can resort to several things:

Surgery is the most dramatic choice but is often sought by people who have tried almost everything and could not cut it; most of the times, exercise is something that is tried once or twice, but with morbidly obese people this takes a lot longer or they need to lose weight BEFORE they can actually start working out. This is a very costly and risky -as with any other surgery- procedure and definitely should not be considered until exhausting all other options.

Diets are the first choice for people who want to loose weight fast. Some diets promise wonders and near-to-miraculous results such as with the Lunar or Moon diet, the Rice Water Diet, the Garlic Diet (this one I've seen that the only thing lost are friends) and many others. Diets should be handled, scheduled and designed by a joint team consisting of a physician, a nutritionist, the interested person if they are only seeking to change dietary habits. But if the diet is part of an overall weight loss program, then a personal trainer needs to be included.

Dietary supplements are also an important part of this paraphernalia and also offer amazing-and-miraculous solutions to losing weight fast. Some of them even go to the length and offer loosing sizes while you bathe! Naturally, this is close to impossible but this does not stops them, since it is quite a business considering just one buy per customer, they have a secure market of millions. Dietary "magic" supplements, of course, do not work; the ones that do work are often prescribed by certified physicians and nutritionists that are up-to-date with the latest developments in this health area. If you are looking to dieting and would like a dietary supplement like vitamins, then even with something that "innocuous" you need to consult a physician first.

Exercise is not a magical wand either. It requires physician supervision and the joint team work. Diets and dietary supplements also form part of the team work exercise will lead in losing weight fast.

Weight Loss - Mental Preparation

There are so many information on how to lose weight easily and quickly. You have to be very careful which source information you should trust, because 80% of people don't want to help you at all. In this article I will go through the weight loss mental preparation which is required for every successful weight loss program.

If you are a person, who wants to lose weight you should first of all start from a goal. Every person who wants to achieve something should start from a specific goal, where he will describe what results he wants to achieve and how long will it take. In your case its weight loss and you should make yourself a goal, which would sound like "By the 23rd of June I will weigh seventy kilograms". Once you will set yourself a goal, you will lose the wanted amount of weight more easily, because you will how many kilograms you have to lose in a certain amount of time.

I personally think that this is the foundation of everything and once you have set yourself a goal you can move on. The second tip is to burn way more calories than you consume. If everyone could do this properly, everyone would have a perfect body, but the reality is that we can't burn more than we consume so successful weight loss experts try find their "perfect contrast" between how many calories they consume and how many calories they burn. Remember that effective weight loss workout starts from a goal and a plan.

In my opinion, person who has good mindset for weight loss, will lose weight quicker than a person who only goes to gym and does nothing more about his weight.

This is what I think about weight loss mental preparation. Readers don't have to agree with me, but I personally think this is the beginning of every successful weight loss program.

The Untold Facts On Weight Loss Diets

Man seems to have lost a certain virtue called patience. Everyone wants to do everything at a much quicker rate. People looking to make money want to get rich quick, those looking to lose weight want to lose it even faster. This is one of the reasons why the internet is flooded with companies that offer you a quick fix.

It is estimated that almost 50 million Americans will go on a diet this year and you might be one of them. However, here is one fact that may create a grim picture about the diet programs out there. Most diet programs may be successful in helping you lose a few pounds straight away, but very few will be able to help you sustain that weight loss and keep those kilos from returning.

Understanding weight loss

Losing weight is about diet management, health management and most importantly exercise. If you come across any claims that you can lose weight while you continue to eat whatever you wish to and without indulging in any sort of exercise, then consider it to be false. You need to reduce the calories that you consume and you wish to burn off some calories that you do consume. This combination is the only way to lose weight.

Spot reduction is not possible in a healthy way. So if a diet program tells you that you can lose the fat around your hips or buttocks only, then it is false or involves an unhealthy way to reduce it. There are some extremely low calorie diets that ask you to starve literally and only consume proteins. But the body needs a regular intake of carbohydrates to stay healthy and continue functioning. So stay away from any such diet program.

Temporary loss and rebound

Crash diets may help you get into shape temporarily but you can never continue to eat that way for long and eventually you will gain those extra pounds back.

I made this video because I think the media headlines did a disservice to the public by oversimplifying the complex considerations behind a study looking at fruits and vegetables.

The study called the Women's Healthy Eating and Living (WHEL) Randomized Trial was published in JAMA last week:

Influence of a diet very high in vegetables, fruit, and fiber and low in fat on prognosis following treatment for breast cancer: the Women's Healthy Eating and Living (WHEL) randomized trial.
JAMA. 2007 Jul 18;298(3):289-98.

There was, however, an editorial that went along with the study, that tries to address some key questions about the study (such as, did the women who were on the intervention actually follow through on the intervention -- the answer which seems to be unclear). Please see:

In the upcoming weeks, there should be more editorials published in specialty nutrition journals addressing the different methodological considerations about the study, as well as address the broader picture of the effects of eating healthy extra fruits and vegetables.
